- I'm an unexpected stay-at-home mom. I say unexpected not because it wasn't planned--all the decisions that have led me here have been mine--but I wouldn't have necessarily predicted that this would be my path. A big incentive to leave the work force was 2009: the year my husband would take a sabbatical, the year we would spend abroad. I've started this blog as a way to keep in touch with family and friends.
